FIFA 19 | Community Reaction

So I thought I’d do a blog on one of the most popular game releases each year. Possibly the only game I play on console. FIFA 19 comes with the all new Champions League licensing, new kick-off game modes, a different way of shooting and more realistic in-game interactions. But what did the community think of the FIFA’s latest release?
Some hate the new shooting mechanic. FIFA 19’s new gameplay feature of time finishing, adds a new layer of risk/reward to the game. However on top of this, the game is more difficult to score in general. Shooting is not as easy as it used to be which makes the game more realistic and gives a different variation of goals. Crossing is also much easier as keepers aren’t able to catch every cross. After playing for a few games I managed to get the hang of shooting and thought it was a welcomed feature.
Some have called for the next FIFA patch to come soon. A couple of things the community have mentioned is problems with ridiculous bicycle kicks, switching centre backs when trying to defend creating open gaps and a lot more tackles/tussle’s for the ball slowing gameplay down.
Similarly FIFA’s cash cow Ultimate Team remains fairly unchanged other than its’ new feature Division rivals. However it’s constant support for the feature makes Ultimate Team FIFA’s biggest sell. With the latest champions cards, limited-time packs and special events, Ultimate Team looks to remain the game’s most popular game mode.
Sadly however Career Mode has suffered this year with hardly any new features being implemented other than the new Champions League/Europa League match features. Much to the frustration of consumers of this mode. It really shows where FIFA’s priorities lie. This picture of Petr Cech in transfer negotiations with his protective helmet on shows how care they have for the details of this game mode. A game mode that has needed revamping for some time consistently gets neglected despite it being the game’s most popular offline mode.
All in all I feel the game is a distinct improvement on last years. Generally there is always a negative reaction to a new game release as users adapt to the new way to play the game. I think FIFA is getting more and more realistic which is reflected in the gameplay. Strength is more important than ever and pace doesn’t seem to be nearly as essential as it used to be. To summarise all this FIFA has listened to gamers’ feedback from last year’s game and have incorporated it in to FIFA 19 which pleases the majority of its consumers.
